The global financial crisis has created a new opportunity to reassess both the strength and weaknesses of the current international financial architecture. To this end, the IGF has brought together a number of eminent scholars including Nobel Laureate Professor Robert Engle and Distinguished Professor of Finance from the University of Chicago, Professor Douglas Diamond and policy makers including Deputy Secretary of Federal Treasury, Mr Jim Murphy.

On 3 April, the IGF hosted a senior delegation from the Asian Development Bank who launched the ADB’s Annual Report on Development. ADB’s flagship economic publication Asian Development Outlook 2014 (ADO) Report provides a comprehensive analysis of macroeconomic issues in developing Asia and the Pacific, with growth projections by country and region.

In Seoul, South Korea, the Director of the IGF Professor Fariborz Moshirian was one of the keynote speakers for the launch of a book that has been written by the Asian Development Bank and its partners on Global financial Stability and Regional Economic Integration. The IGF contributed to this book by writing on the Evolving Global Regulatory Framework and Its Impact on Asia. The focus of this work has been Capital Market Linkages, Contagion, and Institutional Representation.
