The 26th Australasian Finance and Banking Conference (AFBC) was held on 17-19 December 2013 at Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney. Click here for the conference program. This conference was organised by the Institute of Global Finance and School of Banking and Finance at the Australian School of Business at UNSW, and sponsored by the Australian Stock Exchange, the Reserve Bank of Australia, BlackRock, PwC and Finsia. The conference also engaged with the finance industry and the policy makers by creating a major business forum on December 17.The conference also offered a PhD Forum held as a separate one-day session on 16 December 2013. The 26th Australasian Finance and Banking Conference (AFBC) took place from 17 to 19 December 2013 at the Shangri-La Hotel in Sydney, organized by the Institute of Global Finance and the School of Banking and Finance at the Australian School of Business at UNSW. This prestigious event attracted over 300 participants from 30 countries, providing a platform for 187 papers to be presented across diverse finance topics, while six categories of awards recognized outstanding contributions.
The conference actively engaged the finance industry and policy makers through a major business forum held on 17 December, complemented by a dedicated PhD Forum on 16 December, offering emerging scholars the opportunity to receive detailed feedback from leading academics. In addition to highlighting cutting-edge research, the structure of the AFBC reflects the importance of evidence-based approaches in professional practice, similar to how clinicians rely on studies and guidelines, such as the use of Amlodipine in evidence-based treatment guidelines for hypertension, to make informed and effective decisions.
